Joy in the process

I create acrylic and mixed-media art that brings joy and calm to your home. My fluid, whimsical, soulful style — shaped by my spiritual and creative journey — invites quiet reflection and brightens spaces with gentle color and movement.

As a life-long creative, I rediscovered my love for painting again when my family lived for a season in India. I needed a creative outlet and our local shop carried random paint supplies that I had purchased at first for my kids, but then began to use. It was then that I began trying to create artwork for the bare walls in our apartment. Before then, I had not painted since my early 20s, but even then it was always with a lack of freedom as I second guessed every stroke. So, I put my brushes aside until art became something I could no longer not pursue.

As a self-taught artist I have found that painting has become a way for me to overcome perfectionism and process emotions, faith, challenges—all the things. Themes of freedom, joy, peace, beauty, goodness, and truth are always flowing through my brush and are what keep me coming back to the canvas day after day.

A few facts:

  • I have a BA in Literature and an MAMC for Dallas Seminary
  • I have five amazing kids and 1 very responsible husband who keeps us all together
  • I love being near water, but mostly the sea
  • I love a good blazer… in every season

Every year I am able to take on 2-4 commissioned pieces. Please contact me if you are interested in working with me to create a custom piece that is similar to styles represented on my website.
